Review: Fancl Facial service good?

This review will be on Fancl Facial services which is available at Isetan Orchard. I have been going there for my monthly facials as I no longer trust my skin to the neighbourhood facial place I went to, especially since I read in Urban that not all beauticians need to be certified to be able to carry out facial services, so I thought that Fancl would be a safer choice.

The facial service is really popular and in order to make a booking, you have to call the counter then be put on the waiting list. Nearing the end of the month, the Beauty Advisor will give you a call to arrange a time slot. I find it much easier to go down to the counter to make a booking especially if I am in town, as talking about the dates and timing can be a bit frustrating and I realise that they are not as thorough in checking for empty timeslots as compared to when you are there in person.

During my first visit, the BA gave me a skin analysis and found that I have a lot of clogged pores (due to the skin breakout I had while overseas) and I was really hoping the facial can help me clear my skin. My skin condition was quite bad as I can feel bumps in my skin when cleansing and if i try to squeeze the clogged pore, it develops into a pimple.

My first facial was not very pleasant, it might be because of my skin condition. The extraction left my skin very red, and I was quite embarrassed to walk around Orchard with so much redness. I immediately went to the toilet to put on concealer (which is not good after facial!). The second and third time, the facial very slowly improved my clogged pore problem and each time the beautician will try to crack her head and figure out the reason why by asking me several questions but to no avail. According to her, my face should have improved by now. Fortunately, after the third session, my skin did improve!

My skin was so bad that about 1-2 weeks after the facial, I would start to feel the bumps of clogged pores on my face again, but after the third facial, the bumps didnt come back until about 3 weeks and after that, my skin remained okay until the next facial session! =D

Overall, I think that the facial is good. It improved my skin condition and the facialist is always thorough with the extraction. When I asked if my face to very red cos I was going to meet a friend, she immediately offered to make the ice treatment longer (performed after extraction to reduce redness and calm the skin) so that my skin would be less red. I thought that was very nice. :) However, I must say that different facialist provide different standards of service, so I would recommend that you try out a few of them then request for the one you like to do the facial for you!

I have been making Fancl facial a a monthly must-have session in maintaining my skin. I am glad that my clogged pores are improving and I definitely recommend the Fancl Facial service.

Prices are from $60 onwards, depending on the mask used.
$60 - Skin Renewal Pack
$68 - Skin Renewal Pack + Sebum Care Pack
$70 - Aqua Moist

  2. Hi, thanks for reading my blog! The facialist I usually have is evonne at isetan orchard. I find that she is very thorough in extractions but a bit painful. Different people like different facialists though. Fiona is also quite good.
Hope you enjoy your facial! Remember to make your appointment soon to be on the Dec waiting list.

  17. Hi, you can see my reviews of Fancl products here: http://skincare-holic.blogspot.com/search/label/Fancl

Generally, their facial is quite good but products-wise, I have not tried their pimple range.

If u think ur pimple problem is very bad, you can see a dermatologist or aesthetic doctor for medication. My doc gave me some antibiotics cream which helped a lot.
