How Effective is Sato Hakubi White C?

I often get questions regarding Sato Hakubi White C (blue bottle) and Sato Hakubi C2 (pink bottle). How effective is Sato Hakubi in whitening skin? Does Sato Hakubi White C work? How long does it take to see effects? What is the difference between Sato Hakibi White C and Hakubi C2?

I wrote a short review in my previous post and it took me a month to see the effects and this is reasonable as our skin takes about 28 days to renew itself, from innermost layer to outer most layer. The outermost layer consists of dead skin cells, which gradually drop off while we scrub out face to reveal the newer skin layer inside (you can imagine your skin as an onion with many layers, removing the outer layer will reveal the newer skin).

So I say that do not expect a miracle to occur when taking the hakubi pills, your skin will not instantly turn white and it takes patience and months to achieve whiter skin, with lesser scars/freckles that you wish to whiten. That said, I also want to point out that the hakubi pills will not whiten your skin so much that you will have a different skin colour. The pills function such that they will lighten your skin colour back to the original skin colour that you have. So the effects of the sun can be reversed. So, for example, if you are a MAC NC20 foundation shade by birth but the sun exposure and tanning made you into a MAC NC30, then it will help to whiten your skin. I do not think that it will work beyond your natural skin colour.

The difference between Hakubi White C and Hakubi C2 is that White C requires consuming 2 pills three times a day and C2 twice a day. This makes White C have better whitening strength because as the name suggests, Hakubi uses Vitamin C derivatives as the whitening ingredient and Vit C being a water-soluble vitamin, will get passed out in our urine and excess will not be stored in the body, so taking it three times a day will help maintain a steady level of Vit C in our body.

Lastly, I think that once you start of such supplements you cannot stop as your skin will get darker again once you stop the Hakubi pills. So you have to be ready for a long-term taking of the Hakubi pills, especially financially ready as it is not cheap in the long run.

I will end off my post with a warning: Hakubi pills, unlike Vit C supplements in the pharmacies, contain other ingredients and as such, there are no studies studying the long term effects of taking these pills. So although they do work, please consider before buying.

Here's to porcelain white skin!

  9. Hi, you will need long term consumption. Unless you are prepared to take this for long term, i suggest other others like serums, masks, or even IPL and laser.

  11. hello i am 13 yrs old i bought hakubi white c from watsons and the instructions told me to take 3 times daily not 6 times daily?? Can i take 6 times daily even though i am not above 14?

  12. Hi, i think that if you want to remove pigmentation or freckles permanently, lasers or IPL will be the best option. You can see aesthetic doctors to do laser. It is much more effective and faster, though more expensive. I would rather invest in lasers that work than pills that have no guarantee or working. I would think it will take years. Hakubi is better for those who want to even out skin tone.

I stopped taking hakubi already as it made me feel like a patient having to take medication. I rather use whitening products instead =)

  13. Hi, you should follow the instructions, they must have a reason or limiting the intake level for younger people. If you are taking hakubi for whitening, i recommend you use a good high spf sunblock instead. =)

  14. Hi, I have the intention to even out, whiten my skin tone and reduces/ fade away the scars as a result of eczema since young. May I know if you experience any side effects from it? Any slightest difference or discomfort? Lastly, are you still consuming the pills or have you stopped? And did your skin really got darker (if you already stopped consuming)?

Btw, your blog is really helpful. Thanks =)

  15. Hi Candy,

I stopped taking the pills as I was worried about any side effects if I take it long term. It takes very long to reduce scars. It is also not cheap to take long term.

I think applying whitening serums or going for IPL at the doctor's would be more effective and much faster.

    Hope this helps!
